The ISFMT team identifies the purpose of security incident response as providing necessary resources in an organized and professional manner for response to an adverse event (An “incident”) related to the safety and/or security of an information system. The security incident response process is centered on the preparation, detection, containment, eradication, investigation, recovery, and post incident activity surrounding an incident in question.

ISFMT adheres to the laws, ethics, regulations, and boundaries for incident response to always ensure proper response activities, policies, and procedures of the organization and the responder. Our team understands the need for external relations which include technical, executive management, law enforcement, and civil organizations and professionals. ISFMT is associated with national and international incident response organizations.

ISFMT's Incident Response Focus

Our incident response solution follows a multi-stage approach tailored to your specific security programs and overall system requirements. From ensuring a system is properly prepared for an inevitable incident to the complete and successful prosecution of a malicious insider or external “hacker,” all incident response stages are necessary to be followed and completed. The ISFMT Team collaborates with the client to develop, test and/or implement Incident Response Planning and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) policies to track, monitor, and report incidents, and coordinate with other concurrent programs to prevent or minimize future incidents.

The objectives of security incident response activities are to:

  • Limit the immediate incident impact to customers and business partners,
  • Recover from the incident,
  • Determine how the incident occurred,
  • Discover how to avoid further exploitation of the same vulnerability,
  • Avoid further escalation of incident,
  • Assess the impact and damage in terms of financial impact, loss of data, loss of processing, data breaches, reputation, etc.
  • Update corporate security policies and procedures as necessary.

Our seasoned incident response professionals possess many years of industry experience in security operation centers, corporate level incident response teams, and development and management of commercial/federal incident response capabilities. In fact, ISFMT developed the first commercial QSR corporate incident response capability in the 1990's.
